DamáField Guide

Wheelchair access · Palma Hall only

Plan the route.

This is a cautious access map—not a certification.

Only the Pavilion 1 ramp has documentary support. Every route detail still needs a current wheelchair-user-led site audit.

03 / Field verification

The map becomes useful only after a wheelchair user tests it.

Audit the whole journey, not just the ramp: parking or drop-off, access aisle, curb cut, surface, slope, landing, doorway, corridors, lift, room entrance, accessible toilet, and a safe return route.

01Pavilion 1 ramp area

Measure slope and clear width; check landings, handrails, surface, door threshold, and an unobstructed route into Palma Hall.

02Main AS Steps

Confirm whether a compliant alternate ramp now connects the Roxas Avenue approach directly to the lobby.

03West-side mapped entrance

Check level access, door operation and clear width, security restrictions, and connection to the lobby and lift.

04Lift and upper floors

Test lift operation, car and door dimensions, controls, floor stops, backup procedure, and the route to conference rooms.

05Pavilion 1–side parking area

Ask CSSP which vehicles may enter; locate a PWD bay and access aisle; test the continuous route from the bay to the Pavilion 1 ramp.

06West of Pavilion 1 parking

Confirm whether parking is currently permitted and inspect the route for broken pavement, steep cross-slopes, curbs, traffic, and a usable curb cut.

07Quirino Avenue street-side parking

Check current parking rules, unloading safety, curb cuts, crossings, path width, surface condition, and the step-free route around the building.

08North-east parking area

Identify the operator and restrictions, then audit the curb-to-ramp route, including the Academic Oval crossing and traffic exposure.
